Christmas, at last...

Christmas morning looked something like this:

and this:

and this:

and, regrettably, this:

After all of the present opening excitement, we (Mike and I) had the best gift of all. Those crazy Texan grandparents bundled up and took Sarah outside sledding. This released us to a morning of childless cross-country skiing on perfect, fresh powder. Oh, what a treat!

We then topped off the day with a classic Grandpa Fife feast, crabs, clam chowder and artichokes. Yum!

Joyful, joyful day...

OK - I tried to make a blog, as you suggested, but go nowhere, so I will continue to blog in response to yours.

Regarding the princess thing - here is what you could have gotten if you had a boy:

Hank and I were making cupcakes for Martin Luther King's birthday. (His idea) We were using the immersion blender, seeing as it was only a cake mix and didn't need the big mixer. After we were done mixing, I took off the beater.

Hank was playing with the handle, pushing the button and making the motor spin. Then he told me it was a gun, and it was shooting bullets, and the bullets would catch things on fire when they hit them.

This Betty Crocker moment was brought to you courtesy of one Y chromosome.

PS - I would also like to say that the only things (just about) that he watches on TV are The Magic School Bus and Clifford. And sometimes Dirty Jobs. He's scared of Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar Two, the Air Bud movies, etc. And he only plays with girls at school. So, this is clearly genetic, not environmental.
