When you tell people that your dad broke his neck, they usually think you're kidding, but they don't laugh - just in case you're not.

N - My dad is doing well. Ice, pain killers and a stubborn disposition are amazing tools for recovery.
At 1:40 PM, Nicole said...: Tell me about it. My dad just had a huge surgery and did very poorly in the hospital, but then when he got out, pure stubbornness caused the most remarkable recovery.

And I do mean PURE stubborn. I don't know where he gets it. Especially not with my sunny complacent personality.
