Kind of Like Camp David

So, after we were done with all of the formal presidential events, we headed to the presidential compound on the shores of Cedar Creek Lake. Ahhhh... My stiffened-by-winter body was craving this exactly. Lush green fields popping with wild flowers begging us to spread out in their warmth.

And fishing! There was plenty of fishing to enjoy.

Truthfully, I thought Sarah, who expressed much, much excitement about the prospect of fishing, would be entertained by the activity for a very, very short while - like dip her fishing rod in the water and be done. I was very, very wrong. Her grandpa set her up with a fishing rod and plenty of bait. She spent the rest of the evening enthralled.

She checked the bait and the hook endlessly.

All of her efforts paid off. She caught a fish! After Grandpa Fife helped to get it off of the hook, she was ready to fish some more. It took darkness to get her to leave the shores of that lake.

For this entire weary branch of the Fife Dynasty, that lakeside provided exactly what we all needed, grass between our toes and sunshine to warm our thoughts.
