"Monkeys are crazy!" - Sarah Fife

Sarah met up with her buddies at the Oakland Zoo this weekend.

She wasn't too impressed with the animals. In her opinion, the camels were "stinky!", the roaring tigers just wanted to be released ("They're saying, let me out! let me out!") and the elephants who were blowing dirt on their bodies were "messy".

Oh, but the men's restroom - that was fascinating. She and her friend stood mesmerized at the entrance, examining the blue doors and begging us to take them inside. Getting them away from that restroom was as complicated as wrestling a crocodile.

To get their minds off of the tempting restroom, we took them to the carousel which was a big hit.



After the parents were thoroughly dizzy, we tried the animals again. Sarah had been begging to see the monkeys. So, we made our way to the chimpanzees. They did not disappoint.

I've never seen such active creatures in a zoo. They climbed, jumped and teased. Sarah declared them "crazy!" When the most active chimp made it's way to the moat encircling their play area and "went pee-pee and poo-poo in the water", I knew our day was complete. Sarah couldn't have been more thrilled by this display, and the disappointment of not visiting the men's restroom was completely forgotten.
