Item 79: Update Blog ✔

Since my life feels like one big to-do list at this point, it shouldn't come as any surprise that I'm now only able to express myself in list form.

Hey, just be glad I'm not living a haiku. It'd be all 5, 7, 5 syllables around here. You know, I've just never gotten haiku.

Hungry butterfly.
Haiku laps sweet nectar dry.
Weak wings fluttering.

Yup. Haiku pisses me off. And kills pretty, pretty butterflies. There. I've said it. Hate if you want.

So, here's the list.

1) Seen on a fashion magazine yesterday:

Ultimate Guide to Wearing Jeans

What? What's to guide? You just pull the suckers on and go. Maybe this list should be titled "Stuff I Just Don't Get" or "Yes! I Am A Dolt".

2) I intend to make every recipe on this list:

Summer Express: 101 Simple Meals Ready in 10 Minutes or Less

So far, number 73 has been checked off the list. Ok, so it might take me a while, but I'll get to the rest. I will. Really. I will. Hey, don't make me write another haiku.

3) I love the show Man vs. Wild.

4) Too bad Bear Grylls is a fake. An alleged fake:

TV 'survival king' stayed in hotels

5) Mike's response to finding out the above news:

Damn.

I wish I had seen the episode where he drank water from animal dung.

6) Sancho has managed to weasel his way into the household of yet another neighbor.

He was missing from the backyard yesterday. I began to panic until I heard thrilled children laughing. As it turns out, the kids in the house behind us had pried a hole in the fence and let Sancho into their yard for a play date. He got balls and treats. Happy dog!

7) No one wants Lola.

8) Except Sarah.

I think it is hard to blog this time of year when there is so much to do outdoors, you know? That NYT list looks like it has some good ideas on it - simple ones that you could make without going to the damn store.

I think you are working to hard or
been in the sun to long. Take a
break from both. Maybe you can
head to WI, where it is just starting to feel like summer. If you leave now you can make it to
EAA Airventure. As for food, Bagle coffee and fruit in the morning and you can always find a Brats grilling and a cold beer by afternoon. I do have a food box and cooler in the trunk at all times. No telling where the day will take you and you must be prepared for the unknown.
No jeans or Haikus required. REJ

yes, haiku can be frustrating, and understandeable to the point of cursing inanimate objects and such. The guide to wearing jeans? I was pretty sure we knew how to do that, or does good old Donatella still think thats beyond us...ah, well, i see nina Rita suggested wisconsin, perhaps a cross country trip their, starting in New Mexico...lol. well keep out of trouble and keep in touch. Cody.

QT - The recipes are very basic, but good ideas for quick meals. I like quick.

REJ - Definitely too much of something happening here. Wisconsin sounds wonderful. Must get there and home. How do I get an extra 10 hours in a day?

Cody - We're coming your way soon. You may regret the invitation.
