Weekend Treat
This weekend two of our very good friends, Tony and Lori, from Southern California were in town. They came up to compete in a summer biathlon. (Summer biathlon involves running and shooting with penalties for shots missed. It's a lot of fun!)
Tony and Lori do stuff like ride 100 miles on their bikes up mountain passes and cross country ski on downhill courses just for fun. Some of the best (hardest) workouts I've ever done have been with them. They introduced us to one of my favorite workouts. They call it a ride and die. It's an activity best practiced on steep mountain trails. It involves two people, one bike, and no mercy. I miss those outings.
Anyway, Mike went out and did the biathlon with them. My shooting skills are non-existent, so I sat this race out and had a little newborn biathlon instead. (It involved a diaper, squirmy baby, and penalties for tears shed - mine not Sarah's. It was really exciting.) Of course, they all did really well. Lori won the overall women's race. Tony was the top finisher in his age group. Mike missed only one shot out of ten (He's lethal with a gun. That's why I'm really nice to him) giving him a second place finish in his age group. As a reward, they all got to come home and hold Sarah.
Sarah with Dr. Fife and Dr. Whitmore. Unfortunately, the brain waves coming off of these guys blurred the image.
Sarah and Auntie Lori. Auntie Lori spoils Sarah and Sancho and Lola. We all like her a lot.
