How do you say complicated?
Yesterday, it was finally cold enough to put Sarah in this cute little French outfit that I'd been wanting to try on her. It's adorable. On the front, there's a teddy bear and some little birds. Underneath, it says in French, "Leo, the friend of the birds". At least, that's what I think it says. I had to break out my handy-dandy French dictionary. I'm definitely sure "of the birds" is correct. I'm not so sure about Leo's relationship with the birds, though. He either wants to eat them or he's their friend. I'm going with friend. Bird eating teddy bears really isn't such a cute image. Anyway, since all of the tags are also in French, I wasn't really sure what size the outfit was. It looked to be about Sarah's size. I slipped it over her head and sure enough it fit, but once I started buttoning it up, I realized there was a problem. This outfit doesn't have the standard buttons up the legs. Instead, it has a trapdoor to the behind. Isn't that cute, I thought. A few diaper changes later, I decided it wasn't cute at all. It was a real pain. So, I tried to imagine how a French woman would handle the situation. Of course! It was obvious - I had a cigarette and a couple of glasses of red wine. Sure enough, the diaper changes got a lot easier.
Mommy smells funny...
