Pummeled

When I visited the Farmer's Market on Saturday, I found a mound of the biggest, greenest fruit that I've ever seen. The lady at the booth told me that they were Chinese grapefruit (pummelos). She also assured me that in a few days the outer skin would turn yellow, and the fruit would then be ripe to eat. I'm still waiting for the ripening to occur. I'm starting to have my doubts that it will happen at all. This is what it looks like today.

Still green...

So, I did something really dumb yesterday. I went to Costco. (No, that's not the dumb part. Although, if you ask Mike he'll tell you that visiting Costco is just about the dumbest thing that you can do. Don't get him started on his hatred of Costco.) I went to Costco, and I bought 10 lbs of candy. That still isn't the dumb part. The dumb part is that I opened the bag of candy and set the candy out in a bowl. A bowl that is smack dab in the middle of the house. I have to walk past that bowl to get to the kitchen, to get to Sarah's room, to get to the office, to get everywhere! Oh, forget the coffee this week. I've got Tootsie Pops!
