Spring Skiing

Last weekend was the first warm weekend that we've had. Temperatures were in the 60's! So what did we do? We went skiing, of course.

Mike was feeling speedy, so we took him to the start of a 30km ski race, the Great Nordeen. (Here he is warming up slowly. The terrible barking noises in the background are being made by a couple of sled dog teams eager to start pulling.)




Mike was smiling when we left him.



Not sure what he looked like at the end of the race. Sarah and I were too busy melting snow with our own blistering paces to watch him finish.



Here's Sarah in action. If you notice, she's eating snow while skiing in this video. I've found the trick to keeping her engrossed in any activity, snacks.




At the end of our ski, some kids pointed us to the snow cave they had built.



That hole in the snow proved to be the most entertaining find of our day, our fantastic day!
