First Day of Kindergarten

"Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." -Elizabeth Stone

Big day today. No HUGE day today. Wait. What's bigger than HUGE? Because that's what it was. Bigger than HUGE!

Sarah started Kindergarten today.

Oh gosh, hand me the Kleenex.

OK. Almost better.

No. Not better. But let's soldier on...

Up at the crack of dawn, that little girl was ready! I had to talk her out of heading to the bus stop immediately.

Yup. The bus stop. Sarah has been insisting for some time that she would ride the bus to school. I've learned long ago not to argue with my strong-willed one's ideas. So, off to the bus we went. All of us.

Grandpa Fife is in town so she asked him to walk to the bus stop with her. And of course she wanted her dad to come along. And she also wanted Lola to come along...

We all waited excitedly, warmed by the morning sun.

And then, just like that. She was gone...

Oh, Kleenex. More please.

HUMONGOUS! Congratulations, what a brave big girl! Sarah, that is ;) Incredible that she decided to take the bus on her first day! I totally agree that school is too long.
